Tamankertaisen gallerian taiteilija onkin aika paljon klassisempi tapaus. William Blake ei ole valtavan tunnettu suurelle yleisolle vaikka moni hanen kuviaan ja tekstejaan saattaa tunnistaakin.
Blake oli filosofi, kirjailija, runoilija ja taidemaalari, jonka kuvat ja tekstit kasittelivat usein apokalyptisia, infernaalisia ja myyttisia aiheita, pohjaten ja rinnastaen ne kuitenkin usein omaan nykypaivaansa.
Blaken taiteen pohja on lahes poikkeuksetta ahdistavaa ja raskasta, vaikka kuva itse olisi kuinka kaunis, ja kuvat ovat yleensa ekserptioita erilaisista tarinoista ja legendoista, ja jalleen kerran kyseessa on taiteilija jonka tyot ovat niin monisakeisia etta tallainen pieni galleria raapaisee vain pintaa. Henkilokohtaisesti minulle Blaken tekstit ja kuvat kaikessa ahdistavuudessaankin tuovat usein suorastaan kasittamatonta lohtua ja mielenvahvuutta.
Varmastikaan jokainen kuva ei miellyta jokaista silmaa mutta suosittelen katsomaan kuvat rauhassa lapi.
Myoskaan hanen mietelmansa eivat ole niita yksiselitteisimpia...

The artist on the gallery this time is rather a more from the classic side. William Blake isn't well-known to grand audiences even though many of you might recognize his poems and paintings.
Blake was a philosopher, poet, writer and a painter, whose works were very ofeten apocalyptic, infernal and mythical, yet he based and contrasted them into his time of life.
The base of Blake's art is almost without exception haunting and agonizing, even though the image itself is beautiful, and the pictures are usually excerpts of stories and legends, and once again this is such a multidimensional artist here that this kind of a small gallery barely scratches the surface of his talent. For me personally Blake's texts and pictures, however distracting, have always brought almost inexplicable comfort in sorrow, strength and peace of mind.
I'm sure not every image befriends every eye. But I really recommend you to observe all the images in slowly.
Also his aphorisms aren't one of those easy ones...
