Mekong-joella - At the river Mekong

Mekong-joki, joka halkaisee koko etelaisen Vietnamin, on yksi maailman suurimmista joista. Sen alkulahde on Tiibetissa asti ja se kulkee lapi etelaisen Kiinan, Burman, Laosin, Thaimaan ja Kamputsean kunnes saapuu tanne.

The river Mekong, that flows through the southern Vietnam, is one of the world's largest rivers. Its origins are all the way up to in Tibet and it flows through southern China, Burma, Laos, Thailand and Cambodia before coming here.

Joki on paikoitellen huiman levea, ja se kiemurtelee ja jakautuu deltamaisesti loppua kohden. Aloitin reissuni vastaavalla lotjalla kuin kuvassa nakyykin.

The river is in some places hugely wide, and it squirms and splits delta-like in the end. I started my trip on a same kind of lighter as you see here.

Tasta saatte hiukan kasitysta joen leveydesta... Valilla tuntui enemmankin silta kuin olisi ollut vahintaan jarvella.

Here you get the picture just how wide the river is... Sometimes it felt like one'd be more like on a lake.

The surrounding jungle grew straight into water.

Toki viihdyn ylipaataan veneessa, mutta kun siirryttiin naiden pienten jollien kanssa eteenpain, homma kavi todella hauskaksi. :)

I like being on any boat, but after changing into this little cockboat, it started to be really fun. :)



Minahan tykkaan tehda asiat itse, joten olin riemuissani kun paasin itse kuljettamaan venetta. :)

I like to do things myself, so it was really happy when I got to do the rowing. :)
